We now have unprecedented lake levels around the lake as Guadalajara continues to release water from the presas. Many villages are experiencing rising water levels and the lake has waves higher than seen for some time. There really isn’t a park at the end of Colon in Ajijic any more!!

The official end to the wet season was October 1st and it seemed like someone up there had flicked the switch - the skies turned bright blue and cloudless and the light breezes brought a welcome change.

The local government has built a sand bag wall along the park in Ajijic - its now a few feet high so they must be expecting more runoff over the next few weeks.

Holiday bookings continue to come in as some people manage to tear themselves away from election broadcasts in the USA & Canada & global economic woes for a moment or two. Mexico is still a great option for holidays and retirement - at the moment there are about 12 pesos to the US dollar and you can still buy a week’s fruit and vegetables for around 200 pesos for two.

Our garden at Tres Leones is bursting with energy! Lots of evening rain and now the application of fertiliser is bringing just rewards. We have had the top of the walls weeded and replanted, replaced broken pots (always necessary in the wet season) and all the fountains are singing with joy!! We even have lots of mariposas and other flying wonders!

All of our rooms are pristine and ready & waiting for all the oohs and ahs of new and returning guests to our Mexican Inn paradise. Lodging at a B&B is a great way to experience Mexico and Ajijic - nothing you have to do and all day to do it!! or you can choose to be busy, busy with trips to neighbouring villages, exploring around the lake, visiting the mountains, the Tequilla Farms, the arts & crafts areas, meeting new friends and much much more.
